| Rafael is our first Champion and Grand Champion owner handled. We are very proud of our “Little” man! Great job by Lauren Gilbert handling and grooming – this was her first Champion and Grand Champion and she and I put all his points on him starting with the Valley Center show last June – Lauren’s very first show grooming on her own. Mom Safari (Ch Fairbanks Desert Safari) and Dad Rio (Ch Fairbanks Masquerade HIC) are also very proud of their son – and we have been having great fun showing him as a special. He earned his Grand Champion title just a few shows after finishing his Championship, has 15 Best Of Breed or Best Of Opposite wins to date. He ranks #2 in California for Grand Champion Points and ranks #20 overall in the country for Grand Champion Points. |
| Rafi has always been special. He was eye catching from birth and was always strong, confident and outgoing. We named him The Master’s Touch for his beautiful artistic markings and because we felt he was gifted by God. It wasn’t long before we knew that he was also extremely smart. He watches everything that goes on and takes on jobs that he sees me doing. For example from the barn yard he looked up the hill to our house and saw me clap to get crows out of our trees. From that point on, he took on the job of air traffic control and keeps all crows out of our airspace anywhere we go. He also taught his little sister this talent. He helps with the hay for our horse – he pulls the string off the bale – and waits for the knot to come around, drops the string and then grabs the knot for leverage and pulls it out. He loves tools, the handyman is of great interest to him. He loves the horse, and goes in with me to clean the stall, checks her body and legs daily. Rafi was a star at showing and agility from a very young age. He was stacking and showing when he was only 10 weeks old and did all agility obstacles including the teeter when he was 5 months old. He easily earned his herding certificate. Rafi is humorous, good natured, intuitive, loving, outgoing, confident and gifted. He is truly special. Physically, he has great structure and bone, excellent movement with great drive from the rear, a balanced head with good detail and backskull, fantastic outline and topline, and a beautiful face with great expression. His expression is direct, commanding and intelligent. |
